Graphic illustration made in Adobe Express, featuring the title of the poem "the missing piece" in the center with a layer of graphic in the shape of jigsaw pieces with one piece missing (bottom right corner). The color palette is sweet, youthful, warm and childlike.

If I could give you all my coins, I would.
But if I can’t,
I have a back up plan.
I can pray for you.
I can pray that everything that you do
will be met with love—
the kind of love that doesn’t need proof,
the kind of love that helps remove
all blocks and obstacles that get in your way.
That is not to say
you won’t pay if you choose to stay selfish.
Your heart will still endure consequences
because life is a series of cause and effect,
but if you select your thoughts carefully,
open your heart to divinity,
honor other people’s stories,
your journey may not get simpler,
but it will get easier.
You may still get to taste complexities,
But they will dance together harmoniously,
With ease and in peace.
So, I pray for that, at the very least,
hope will never run dry in your heart.
I pray
that your river will join the vast ocean of trust.
One day, if you must need a hand,
there will be a hand.
If you need someone to hear and understand you,
there will be at least one or two
who will leave their doors wide open for you.
You will never go hungry,
physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
I cannot help take your pain away permanently,
but I can pray for a series
of joyful moments to blossom
in your presence.
I can’t change your past,
but I can show you
how to make beautiful moments last.
Today, I may not be able to share all my coins,
but I do care about your joy,
Because I believe
joy is the missing piece
that can help you find a way to fill any void
and likely attract all those needed coins.
